It's almost Labor Day, making it the perfect time to celebrate our latest labor of love project — the first large-scale community cat trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) project in Georgia, resulting in the spay/neuter of 166 cats across 9 counties.
We still have various sponsorship levels available for our annual gala and golf tournament. So, bring your team, showcase your business, and make a difference!
Largest Pawtner Project: Athens Area Humane Society
In July, we launched our first-ever multi-county TNVR project—fixing 166 community cats in just two days with the help of incredible partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
Behind every colony are community members who feed and care for these cats daily. They were overjoyed to finally have support in keeping their colonies manageable through spay/neuter—and we even donated extra food to their efforts.
This success was made possible by:
Our amazing pawtner and co-host, Athens Area Humane Society
Seven other boots-on-the-ground pawtners with vans and volunteers — Good Mews, Humane Society of Forsyth County, Pounce de Leon Cat Rescue, Atlanta Humane Society, Catvocate, Inc., Cat Zip Alliance, and Left Over Pets
Three generous sponsors — Holland M. Ware Charitable Foundation, BISSELL Pet Foundation, and Georgia Pet Foundation
Cat-loving community caretakers and volunteers across 9 counties
With your support, we can repeat this lifesaving work and create a better future for community cats and their caregivers. Please consider a gift today.
Fix Georgia Pets is tackling a critical need: helping pet owners who want spay/neuter services but can’t afford or access them.
Since launching our voucher program with Georgia SPOT Society in February, we’ve seen nearly 2,000 requests in just five months. Demand far exceeds current funding, so we’ve paused new requests while we catch up. Already, 80+ pet owners in 17 rural counties have received help—stopping the cycle of unwanted litters.
Georgia SPOT Society opens its program statewide and has built vet partnerships in all regions to keep spay/neuter costs low for pet parents requesting aid. And when the cost is not low enough, they subsidize it as funding allows.
Our goal is to help Georgia SPOT Society expand by identifying community-based funding in every county to meet this high demand. If your business or one that you know wants to help end pet overpopulation in Georgia, inquire about sponsoring our voucher program in your county today!
