Real Men Neuter: A Pet Lover's Guide to Ending Senseless Euthanasia for Father's Day

This June, as we celebrate the strong, caring figures in our lives, we also applaud those who are Dads to the furry, four-legged members of our families.

Check out our blog post on why spaying and neutering are essential to responsible pet parenting. These procedures do more than reduce the pet overpopulation epidemic; they provide significant health benefits for our pets, reducing the risk of certain cancers, curbing aggressive behaviors in pets, and so much more.

In the spirit of Father's Day, we've suggested the activities below to deepen your bond with your family and pets while promoting responsible pet ownership:

  • Volunteer Together: Spend quality time with your family by volunteering at a local shelter. It's a meaningful way to show love for your pet and give back to the community. Check out some of our partner organizations here!
  • Adopt or Foster a Pet: With shelter euthanasia rates increasing daily, consider rallying the family to provide a foster or forever home to a pet in need. What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than with a new family member?
  • Golf for a Cause: Gift Dad tickets to our Fix Georgia Pets 8th Annual Golf Tournament on October 28th at Druid Hills Golf Club. It's a fantastic way to support our mission and enjoy a day on the greens.
  • Visit a Pet-Loving Georgia Winery: For Dads who love wine, enjoy a day tasting local wines and bring your furry friend along to a pet-friendly winery like Stonewall Creek Vineyards, a supporter of our spay and neuter programs.
  • Participate in Educational Workshops: Attend the 25th Annual APAW (Animal Protection And Wellness) Expo on October 18th and 19th at the Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta. Learn more about animal laws, pet care, and so much more.
  • Fundraising Events: This Father’s Day, host a barbecue, car wash, or another event to raise funds for spay/neuter programs. Invite other families, friends, and their pets to attend! It’s a fun way to engage pet lovers and support a vital cause.
